If you have never had lash extensions , you are definitely missing out! Being able to wake up and cut 10-15 minutes out of your makeup routine , will give you 15 minutes of extra sleep. Also, waking up and looking in the mirror and not being mortified, will definitely be a plus too.
The most amazing thing lash extensions does for those who do wear them, is the confidence boost!! Many people have no clue how something so small can make them feel so much better about themselves ! This is the #1 reason, I love being a lash artist. I love to see the transformation, but what I truly love is how happy they look into the mirror first time. I have even had women cry ! Crying because they had no idea they could enhance their own beauty with something as small as eyelashes.
Now, don't get me wrong.... one can go get lash extensions the first time and have the WORST experience ever. For those who have been in this situation, I beg you to not give up the idea of lashes. I encourage you to seek a professional, licensed lash artist, with some experience under her/his belt.
I truly believe there's a difference in a lash tech and a lash artist! Anyone could be a tech, heck, you could if you wanted to. A lash artist though? That's a different story . An artist will be on point with her accuracy of applying the extensions to the natural lashes.
She will not only be licensed, but have continued her education many times. He/she will probably have different t types of awards, certificates and licenses on the wall . They are defiantly something to be proud of. She/he will also have a passion for lashes or really enjoy her job. Literally no one wants to sit in one position 8-10 hours a day if they don't love what they do.
She/he will have her own style, artistic flair, own individuality in her work. No set of lashes should ever look the same ! Each customers eye shape and face shape is different. So we want to accentuate your best quality's , not make the flaws stick out. If someone has a square face (as I do) then I would want to soften the face. Make it look less hard. More feminine. I would choose to go with a long cat eye or a rounded look such as a baby doll. Since I have big eyes, I would want the longest extensions near the end to make the eye appear slightly smaller. If one has small eyes already, than you would want longest lengths in middle to make it appear bigger .
Communication and a friendly demeanor is very important to me! No way do I want to lay there for 1-3 hours and there be an awkward silence or listening to tech talking on her phone or with co-worker the entire time. Clients can always ask for silent appointments, which is NOT awkward when you know they are wanting silence . If a tech has an attitude , or acts like she has better things to do , well that's not the type of energy i want around .
Most importantly, if it only takes your lash tech a hour or hour and half, then they are more than likely not lashing the majority of your lashes. A lash tech has the ability to create the visual impression of full extensions. However, without the application of extensions to all lashes, or a substantial majority, clients may experience significant loss within 2-3 weeks. It's noteworthy that in such cases, clients may be billed for a full set, despite the outcome not being attributable to their actions.
A lash fill for me takes 2 hours every time . Every lash is lashed though and customers come back 3 weeks later looking as if they just got them done the same week!
Lastly, just because you get on Instagram or Facebook and there pictures look good, does not make them a good lash artist. Look for the businesses reviews! Watch how she interacts with customers on her social media. Do they even have a website ? Can she accept your payment if you forget your credit card? Are her policies so strict , your going to regret your decision later when life throws a curveball? Something to think about.
Thank you for checking out my first blog! It will get better with time lol. Stay blessed! https://savagelash.glossgenius.com
